- Jayaprakash (criminalenglish) praises Ted Chiang.
- My 2 cents: Chiang has written some of the best speculative short fiction published in the last decade. Read his collection.

Any R.A. Lafferty story is a good choice. I look forward to reading your appreciation of it (and maybe it will inspire me to take a little time to read that particular story, so many good things out there.)
There were so many good stories to choose from (still are!), I decided on Marc Laidlaw’s Jane because I figure I can say something about both the story and SciFiction with it.
Hey, how goes the writing?
Brian.
Thanks. I love Lafferty in a kind-of incredulous “I can’t believe he just did that” way. I probably won’t get to writing the appreciation until this weekend, though. I haven’t read the Laidlaw story…but on your reco I will for sure.
The NaNo writing is going a pretty well…still a little bit behind but I am actually more comfortable that way. I tend to go in manic spurts of productivity. I have to get ahead over the weekend though, since we’ll be travelling for part of next week for the holiday and my laptop is unreliable…
